Why I started a Blog

22 October 2006

“To have a powerfully positive impact on as great a number of people as possible.”

While I believe my coaching is probably the best way of offering individual, specific advice and guidance to people, there are a lot of areas which others could benefit from. And I also know that there are so many more people out there who are cautious about trying one on one coaching, chose not to invest the resources for various reasons. Seeing as my aim includes having an impact on the greatest number of people I began thinking of other ways to get the knowledge and insights I had out there to more people.

Inspired by Steve Pavlina I thought that a blog would allow me to get the thoughts and insgihts I have out there, and hopefully help other people change their mindset and get out of their own way. I’ve always enjoyed writing, and when the universe provided me with a link to Steve Pavlina’s site and I realized that blogging could be a way for this goal to materialize. I like, in fact I love, the idea of the internet as a bottomless resource for people. It’s also somewhere where you can get so much more information with such ease rather than in magazine articles (which was another choice for me to look into).

Daily thoughts I have which I feel have could have a lasting, positive impact on my readers will go here. Currently I don’t want to post anything which is topical and fleeting, like my daily diet or how many red cars I saw today. If I notice something which highlights an important point I’ll use it in my posting. By the way, I try to stick to the Paleo Diet as much as possible, even though I do have a weakness for coke and chocolate, and I saw three red cars today that I can remember :-)

My aims are:

  1. Have a positive impact on as great a number of people as possible.
  2. To help people free themselves from their own limiting attitudes, beliefs, thoughts and actions.
  3. To be an inspirational force for people interested in developing lasting, unshakeable, inner confidence.

Hopefully, this blog will facilitate that.

This blog will also provide a revenue stream for me. It’s almost a way for me to promote myself without incurring too much cost and also generating an income which would cover the cost of running this blog – both in terms of hours spent writing and cost of hosting my sites. The way I see it, it’s definitely win/win for all those involved. I’ve personally benefited from clicking through sponsored ads before and came across sites I otherwise wouldn’t have found, or even searched for!

I promise that:

That’s all for now. If I think of anything more, I’ll edit this again!
